Does ContextGuide make its own glasses?

No. ContextGuide is a software platform designed to work with compatible consumer AI glasses and future Android XR devices. This keeps the wearable light and reduces the need for costly specialist hardware.

Can it replace a cane, guide dog or medical professional?

No. ContextGuide is an assistive companion, not a replacement for mobility aids, trained professionals or clinical care. Safety-critical features will be tested with users and domain experts before broader release.

What happens to camera and health data?

Our architecture separates permissions by module, minimises retained data and keeps intensive processing on the user’s phone where practical. Detailed privacy controls will be published before public pilots.

Which glasses will be supported?

The platform is being designed for Android XR and compatible AI glasses, with adapter layers for selected devices. Exact support will be announced alongside pilot hardware.

Will it work indoors without building maps?

Basic scene assistance can still help, but precise destinations and turn-by-turn indoor guidance depend on mapped building data, partner beacons or spatial scans.

How much will it cost?

The intended model is freemium: essential capabilities remain free, while advanced indoor navigation, health and translation modules are available through subscription or sponsoring partners.
